Q: How do you program a keyless remote for a 2002 Honda Civic Ex?
we recently got a used 2002 Honda Civic, but it did not come with any keyless entry remotes. we are planning on buying one or two remotes off of ebay, but we are unsure of how to program them and also where the FCC ID is located on the car. we checked on the frame of the driver-side door where there is a manufacturers label and a car information label, but could not find it. does anybody know how to program a 2002 Honda Civic keyless entry remote? or where to find the FCC ID on the car?
A: knowshon is right. If the vehicle had the key less entry system at one time it will work, but if the system was never there or if someone removed it , it will not work. If the contorl unit is there u just have to follow that procedure and it will work. Good luck!
Q: Can the 2002 Honda Civic LX Sedan be fitted with side airbags for front and rear passengers?
Can the 2002 Honda Civic LX Sedan be fitted with side airbags for front and rear passengers? And is there any website that I can find such information? Thanks.
A: Theoretically, it is possible but definitely not feasable. It’s not only the airbags that need to be installed, it’s also the computer components and impact sensors that need to be added. It might be a little easier but still obsenely expensive if honda offered a standard Civic modification with additional airbags but in this case, it would be cheaper to sell your car and replace it with another model.
Q: How can I make my 2002 Honda Civic Coupe look and drive more sporty on not too crazy a budget?
I have a 2002 Honda Civic Coupe Ex, white, not a scratch. I’m looking for some ways to juice up its power and make it look a little more sporty. (purchased this car for my son as a gift for finishing grad school. Would like it to appeal to a 24 year old male.) Any ideas? I’m not on the biggest budget but want to do what I can. Thanks!
A: As far as looks, you can lower it some and get aftermarket wheels for it.
For power, you can install aftermarket parts like a cold air intake, headers, and exhaust.
Either way, you’re spending some good money. Doing both will cost you a lot.
Q: How much would a transmission cost for a automatic 2002 honda civic?
I am having problems with my 2002 honda civic and will most likely need to get a new or rebuilt transmission. Does anyone know how much a new/rebuilt transmission plus labor would cost for a 2002 honda civic? Thanks for your help! : )
A: over 1000
Q: How much does a new transmission for a 2002 Honda civic cost, with installation?
I have a 2002 honda civic with a manual transmission, I have a real strong feeling that the transmission is about to go. How much do you think a new one is going to cost with installation?
A: The cost varies depending on which auto shop your getting serviced at. I’m going to go out on a limb and say you’re located in New Jersey? In that case a good place to start would be: http://www.autorepairinnewjersey.com/Category/Auto-Transmission/ But, make sure the cost involved isn’t anything larger than the sum of what your car is worth.
Good Luck!
Q: What is the lifespan of a 2002 Honda Civic EX?
What is the lifespan of a 2002 Honda Civic EX (Si model in Canada) if well maintained, following the factory recommended maintenance schedule? I am currently driving it with 175,000 km and would like to know how much longer can it run for? Thanks.
A: Yeah, 300,000 is a good bet. Don’t count on getting there without a few minor and maybe a moderate problem, but with the proper maintenance it should prove to be a dependable car through 300,000
Q: How much can I sell my 2002 Honda Civic Dx for?
I have a Honda Civic Dx 2002 with 74k miles on it. With an updated major tune up and inspection this year. No accidents. How much do you think my car would sell for?
A: $5000.
Q: What is a fair price for this 2002 Honda Civic?
I am planning on buying a used 2002 Honda Civic LX from a private owner. The car has only had this one owner, and the car has been in one accident where someone rear-ended him. A new bumper was put on the car.
The car has an automatic transmission, power windows and doors, keyless entry, functioning air conditioning and radio, no scratches on the outside. It has about 43,000 miles on it.
The owner is asking for $9200 for the car which is a little more than I would want to spend. Is this a fair price or should the price be lower/higher?
I’ve consulted Kelly Blue Book but would like an educated estimate as well. Please only serious answers!
The car is a dark green and the interior is in great condition – the driver only drove it to a subway stop and back.
Also, I don’t know if this would have an effect on the price, but the car (and me) is located right outside of Boston, Mass.
A: Depands on color condition of tires interior and whether its what you really want around 6500 to 7500 is a fair price in my area for that same vehicle!
Q: How to remove front speakers in 2002 Honda Civic Coupe?
I have a 2002 Honda Civic coupe and the drivers side speaker on the door is blown. How the heck do I take off the door skin to replace the speaker?????
A: go to 7thgencivic.com (it will redirect you to a new site) and go to the DIY section and you will see speaker installation with details and pictures or just search the forum for speaker installation and yuou will get lots and lots of information. I also have an 02 coupe and used this site religiously for many years while modifying my car, including speakers!
Q: What is a good price to sell a 2002 honda civic lx for that needs work?
what is a good price to sell a 2002 honda civic with 150000 miles for? It starts and runs but needs a new transmission and new back brakes. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
A: 200
Q: what is the torque spec on my 2002 honda civic transmission fluid pan bolt?
Bought the filter / fluid for my 2002 automatic honda civic-ex , but cant find the specific torque spec to re-tighten the pan/bolt when im all done draining. No luck from several auto parts stores / manuals. Different years seem to require 29 lbs/feet but I wasn’t able to find out for my model year in particular.
A: 29-32
Q: How much will a sunroof cost for a 2002 Honda Civic?
Hey everyone, I was just wondering how much a sunroof for a 2002 Honda Civic would be? I acutally saw a Honda Civic with 2 sunroofs, that is my inspiration, but Im curious about the price. Not sure if I should go to my local Honda dealer and just ask them, but I live in Augusta, Georgia. Not sure if I would want to drive to Atlanta for the best deal either. Thanks for your help!!
A: i wouldn’t trust a sunroof unless its factory installed
Q: How do I know if my clutch is going bad in my 2002 honda civic?
I have a 2002 Honda Civic manual transmission and I think my clutch might be going bad how can I know for sure?
A: get out on the street and when your doing about 15-20 mph shift to 4th and floor it. If the car revs up but doesn’t seem to try and pull then the clutch is bad. If the car lugs and trys to pull the clutch is engaging and good.
Q: How much is a new transmission for a 2002 honda civic sedan?
I have a 2002 civic sedan with a blown transmission..
The dealer said $3,500 for a new transmission with 3 yr warranty & $2,500 for a used junk yard transmission with 70k miles with 1 yr warranty..
I know dealers overcharge so what really is the price of a new transmission?
Because i have $2,500 of disposable income & dont wanna blow it on a used transmission..
A: Although dealer prices are typically higher that is your only source for a NEW transmission. A rebuilt one (or rebuilding yours) will cost you probably just as much. AND don’t have a Honda tranny rebuilt by just anybody – get one from, or ship it out to a shop that specializes in Honda transmissions. It will probably cost you about $3,500.
So, if your car has somewhere over 70,000 miles on it, and you plan to trade it in within 3 or 4 years, get the used one. If you really plan to keep this car for another 5 years or longer, buy the new one.
Consider also that Honda transmissions are very very good, it yours failed in a 2002 civic, something happened to cause that failure. Make sure it doesn’t happen again.
If you like to gamble, work with a small mechanic shop and try to find a salvage transmission from a private party (not a wrecking yard) for less and get no warranty.
Really the difference is you are paying for the warranty. No warranty – $500 to $750. 30 day warranty $750 – $1000. 90 day warranty $1000- $1500.
I bought an automatic transmission for a civic project off Craigslist. Picked it up in an Arco parking lot. No documentation. The guy said it had about 70,000 miles on it. The guy said it had been under his deck for 4 years. The guy said there was nothing wrong with it. I gambled $70 plus a lot of labor and have 40,000 miles that I’ve put on that car since with no problems.
Good Luck
Q: Where is the coolant temp sensor in a 2002 honda civic si?
I have a 2002 civic si 2.0 i-vtech. troble code on obd2 testor says coolant temp to low to regulate. Everything points to a bad sensor.but i dont know where to find it. Any help would be great thx.
A: the electronic coolant temp sensor should be in the right side of the cylinder head below the air cleaner bellows. Take the air cleaner off and look down to side of the cylinder head. The ECT has a two terminal connector on it.
If your diagnosis leads you to replacing the sensor you need to make sure that the o-ring for the sensor is replaced when you install the new sensor.
I think that the code for ‘too low to regulate’ could also be caused by an engine thermostat that is hung open.
hope that helps
