Q: How do I change the rear motor mount in a 1997 Honda Civic… Is there any diagrams or anything online?
A: Probably if you look. Common sense tells ya to put a jack up to the bottom of the motor first…………………..
Q: I want to buy a used car. Which one is the best Hyundai(accent), Toyota(corolla), or Honda(civic) and why?
Hyundai accent vs (Honda civic vs Toyota corolla)?
It looks like 2002 model of Hyundai accent is of the same price as 1997 model of Honda civic.
Does this mean Hyundai accent is not a good car?
When I checked the miles per gallon(mpg) online, all these
three gives from 25mpg to 37mpg.
What are the other factors affecting the price?
and I also would like to know about the maintenance cost(spare parts) for Hyundai vs other two cars.
Thanks in advance for your answers.
A: Hyundai builds crap. Steer clear. Depreciation is ver steep. DO yourself a huge favor and go for the Corolla or Civic. They are both excellent cars that will last long after the Hyundai is dead and buried.
Q: Question on repairing axles on a 97′ Civic Ex coupe?
So I have a 1997 Honda Civic Ex coupe. First of all, does this car have abs? I read on from other answers that to look for an abs light on the panel, I do not see one. So I am guessing it does not have abs brakes??? Anyway, My next question is, I was wondering what is the cheapest way to repair axles….
should i take it to a mechanic? or should i buy the axles online, then take it to a mechanic??
A: I just did the axle repair on my 96 Odyssey. It’s a sensitive repair since you are dealing with bearings at the transmission. Experience is a must, seriously consider doing it at your dealership. In the end, having to take it in only once and getting it right the first time might be worth it. You will also get new CV joints in the process…figure about $1200.00.
I am no fan of the dealers, but sometimes it’s not worth it to go elsewhere.
Q: Buying my first car…. Honda Help!?
I’m going to try to make a long story short…
I was looking for a car and I found basically my dream (USED)car. It’s a 1997 Honda civic EX 2 door coupe. It’s ticketed at 5995.00 but he’s selling it to me for $4,000. It has 79,304 miles, but looks great!
Here’s the problem…
I asked him for a carfax vehicle history report and he “told” me it was clean. When I check online for the free report it said it had 21 records. I would have to pay $25 to see what they actually are. Today I’m going to push for the report and take it to a machanic before I purchase it.
BUT…
Is there anything I should look for right off the bat as trouble?
Here’s the link to the car.

A: Pay the $25 bucks….it could save you thousands later. Definitely get it checked out before you buy it.
Q: how do i take my headlights off?
i have a 1997 honda civic and im trying to take the headlights off but cant figure out out, can someone help me out please!! i cant even find it online!!
i dont want to replace the bulb. i want to take the light off sooo i cant clean inside it
A: I don’t think you can clean the inside of the headlight lenses.
Q: What is the name of this auto body part?
The car in question is a honda civic 1997 ex coupe, the part in question is the part behind the door, almost like a rear fender, its between the hood and the door on both sides. It hangs over the wheels. I thought it was a rear fender, but i can’t find the part online. I need to replace mine as it had incurred damage.
also if anyone had one for sale. heh. heh.
also. i thhink it reachse around above the window too and it meets the door.

that is the car, the whole piece on the far left. that whole thing. what the fructose is it.
A: I think you talking about a quarter panel.
Q: Which tires should I put on my car?
My 1997 Civic DX needs two new front tires and I don’t know which ones to put on (didn’t put the first ones on, only driven this thing 20,000 miles). I live in salt lake city so I drive in slush/snow often. I’ve used discount tire in the past to install them, and they are recommending the Goodyear integrity tire. I looked up reviews of the tire online and I’m hearing it’s not that great. I would rather wait a week and order a good tire that works well with my car than get crappy tires now. Or am I being paranoid about that tire and the idiots who say it slips all the time in the rain?
Anyone know a decent tire that is hopefully $60 or less a piece that works well with a ‘97 Honda Civic DX?
My tire size is 185/65 – 14
A: The Goodyear Integrity sucks, especially in slush, snow or ice. Avoid any tire place that actually recommends these turkey’s.
P185/65R14 85S is one of the most popular tire sizes on the planet. Your choices are limited to just a few hundred different models but your budget narrows that more than just a bit. The General Altimax RT or Kuhmo Solus KR21 would certainly be much better than the Goodyears. Those are perfectly decent tires for the price. My favorite is the highly reviewed Pirelli P4 Four Season which might be a couple of bucks over your planned budget but is worth every penny.
Q: “Honda” turbo charger into a Saturn?????? CAN I DO IT?
I want to buy a turbo charger online, the one offered is a used “
turbo kit h22 civic integra honda turbo parts”
it comes with These specs:
greddy bov 100
38mm turbonetics delegate external wastegate 100
intercooler 200 (dont know dimensions biggest intercooler that could fit on integra)
h22 manifold 250
greddy emanage piggy back 180
2x autometer gauges air fuel & boost 50 each
t3 t4 turbo .70 400
And i have a 1997 Saturn SC2, so my question is arnt all turbo chargers universal?? would this work in my saturn?? thanks
A: The turbo charger might be universal, but the piping, the exhaust manifold, the computer (piggyback) and the intercooler are not. You would be buying a kit and only using a portion of the parts. You need a kit for your car. The hardest part is getting the exhaust headers for a turbo. And then getting all the piping you will need to get that pressurized air into your intake. By the way, turbo chargers use oil to lubricate and cool themselves down. this means you will need to tap your oil pan and run new lines to get oil to the turbo. Turbo’s need special oil which almost no one ever uses. Turbo’s spin at incredible RPMs and therefore you need the best oil you can run, and you need to change it much more frequently than you would without the turbo. Turbo’s are incredibly hard on oil. They are also hard on your engine parts, you should get a rebuilt engine that can take the boost. You will also need a new fuel managment system to get more gas into your engine, otherwise your only increasing half the equation. Power = Gas + air. All your doing is air, in order for a turbo to really work, you need the gas, which is where the piggyback comes in, it reprograms your computer to use more fuel than it would normally. You will also need to run hi test fuel. You will need to let your car idol before you shut it off because the turbo needs time to cool down after being used. The oil needs to be pumped into the turbo for a little bit (like a minute or 2) to let the turbo cool itself before you shut it off. If you just turn your car off after using it, you could burn up the bearings in the turbo. You will also loose longevity in your engine. Turbo’s are not a “buy it on ebay and slap it on” type of modification, it costs ALOT of money to make a turbo work the way it’s suppose to. And if your not going to do it right, it’s really not worth doing. Save your money, get a car with a factory turbo, it’s a way better bet. Or better still, by a car that’s fast without a turbo. A turbo is just one more thing to break down, and one more thing to add stress to an engine.
Q: Car Insurance Question!?
I currently am paying 231.10 dollars for car insurance. This policy has only one vehicle, which is a 1997 Dodge Caravan. I am planning to add another vehicle to the policy which is a 2003 Honda Civic Sedan. I am wondering how much more I would have to pay if I were to add on this vehicle. Can someone give me an estimated amount?? ( Using GEICO as my Auto Insurance )
And also, I went on the Geico site and I saw that you can add a vehicle to your policy just online. After I’m done with all the registration, will they just send the insurance card straight to my home with just a simple online registration??
A: If you were on the Geico website then you also know you can find the answer to your question right there ON THEIR WEBSITE!!!!!
